Since the industrial revolution begain around 200 years ago, there has been a radical increase in the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) and various other greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.
Almost a half of the UK's carbon dioxide emissions actually come from energy we use every day - at home and when we travel.
In 2004 the UK produced around 560 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
27% or 153 million tonnes of those emissions came from the energy we use to heat, light and power our homes.
15% or 85 million tonnes of CO2 emissions came from passenger cars, buses, mopeds and motorcycles.
LED lighting can vastly save energy and reduce CO2 emissions. We here at Led UK believe that LED lighting is a change that the world needs to see, please click here and read more about the benefits of LED light sources.
